“Just a talker.”

From the preface:

“The spiritual firmament of the Free Church of Scotland at the time of the Disruption in 1843 was adorned with a galaxy of stars — men possessing much grace, eminent gifts and tireless energy in the services of Christ. They were burning and shining lights, in whose holy radiance thousands of God’s people loved to walk. One of these stars was Dr John Duncan, affectionately known as ‘Rabbi’ Duncan on account of his thorough acquaintance with everything Jewish…Although Duncan was a master of the English language (as well as many others), and had a wonderful sense of the music of words, he never wrote a book. When an acquaintance once found him absorbed in a volume on Job he asked him, ‘Why do you not write a book?’ ‘I cannot write,’ he replied, ‘I’m just a talker'” (John M. Brentnall, Just A Talker: Sayings of John (‘Rabbi’) Duncan, p. xvi).

Though John Duncan and I have the same surname, we do not have the same theology — his comes from the Reformed tradition and mine comes from holy Scripture.
