WCF: Of the Church (XXV.4)

“This catholic Church has been sometimes more, sometimes less visible. And particular Churches, which are members thereof, are more or less pure, according as the doctrine of the Gospel is taught and embraced, ordinances administered, and public worship performed more or less purely in them” (XXV. 4).

The Westminster Confession of Faith is one of many responsible for blanketing much of the theological landscape in the darkness of ignorance. Those Calvinist/Reformed “churches” applauding this confession have been enveloped by this pernicious python. And yet, even in the grimmest and darkest of times, God has always preserved His gospel by reserving for Himself a remnant according to the election of grace who will never bow the knee to Baal (Romans 11:5-6). The WCF, along with those who profess adherence to its heretical contents have bowed the knee to Baal. The true gospel is not taught and embraced in the “churches” who consider the WCF a bastion of orthodoxy. For the WCF denies that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone believing (Romans 1:16) by making exceptions for elect infants and all other elect persons who are incapable of being called by the ministry of the Word (X. 3).

Although the framers of the WCF (and their followers) know the God of Scripture, they glorify Him not as God, but in their foolish imaginations they have changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man. One instance of this idolatrous and blasphemous exchange in the WCF is witnessed in places where God is said to leave men “to the liberty of their own will” (IV. 2). Worship of the true and living God is not being “performed more or less purely” in the “churches” that house this confession; rather, they are doing service in their respective Synagogues unto a god which by nature is no god (Galatians 4:8).
