An odor of a sweet smell

“Then become imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell” (Ephesians 5:1-2).

The Father is WELL PLEASED with the offering of Jesus Christ and the satisfaction that He made to His justice. This offering of Christ is a sweet smelling aroma to the Father. This offering was made on behalf of certain sinners. The sacrifice of Christ is the SOLE GROUND of acceptance with God. It ALONE is a sweet smell in His “nostrils.” If only one sinner for whom Christ died as a Substitute and Representative were to end up in hell, then that would mean that the Father rejected and “turned up His nose” at the sacrifice and counted it as insufficient in and of itself. This is exceedingly blasphemous. God the Father ACCEPTS the precious blood of Christ as SUFFICIENT of itself. The universal atonement advocates reject Christ’s blood as sufficient by their belief that it was poured out for those in hell. These haters of Christ spit on His precious blood by their demonic doctrine that teaches that His blood does NOT speak better things than that of Abel (Hebrews 12:24); does NOT demand and ensure remission (Hebrews 9:22); does NOT put away sin (Hebrews 9:26); is NO BETTER than the blood of bulls and goats (Hebrews 10:4); is NO BETTER than the high priests that repeatedly offered these inefficacious sacrifices (Hebrews 10:11).
