“Then become imitators of God, as beloved children, and walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell” (Ephesians 5:1-2).
The Father is WELL PLEASED with the offering of Jesus Christ and the satisfaction that He made to His justice. This offering of Christ is a sweet smelling aroma to the Father. This offering was made on behalf of certain sinners. The sacrifice of Christ is the SOLE GROUND of acceptance with God. It ALONE is a sweet smell in His “nostrils.” If only one sinner for whom Christ died as a Substitute and Representative were to end up in hell, then that would mean that the Father rejected and “turned up His nose” at the sacrifice and counted it as insufficient in and of itself. This is exceedingly blasphemous. God the Father ACCEPTS the precious blood of Christ as SUFFICIENT of itself. Those who believe that Jesus Christ died for everyone without exception REJECT Christ’s blood as sufficient by their belief that it was poured out for those in hell. These Christ-haters spit on His precious blood by their demonic doctrine that teaches that His blood does NOT speak better things than that of Abel (Hebrews 12:24); does NOT demand and ensure remission (Hebrews 9:22); does NOT put away sin (Hebrews 9:26); is NO BETTER than the blood of bulls and goats (Hebrews 10:4); and is NO BETTER than the high priests that repeatedly offered these inefficacious sacrifices (Hebrews 10:11).
“But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss because of Christ. But, no, rather I also count all things to be loss because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count [them to be] trash, that I might gain Christ and be found in Him; not having my own righteousness of Law, but through the faith of Christ, [having] the righteousness of God on faith, to know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, having been conformed to His death, if somehow I may attain to a resurrection out of the dead. Not that I already received or already have been perfected, but I press on, if I also may lay hold, inasmuch as I also was laid hold of by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:7-12; underlining mine).
Those who believe that Jesus Christ died for everyone without exception, do NOT know the power (Greek: dunamis) of Christ’s resurrection. They are ignorant of the ONLY righteousness that God accepts (Romans 10:1-4). They are woefully ignorant of the exceeding or surpassing greatness of His power (Greek: dunamis),
“the ones believing according to the working of His mighty strength which He worked in Christ [in] raising Him from [the] dead; yea, [He] seated [Him] at His right hand in the heavenlies” (Ephesians 1:19-20).
If you believe that Jesus Christ died for everyone without exception, then your professed belief is a self-righteous sham. Your so-called “belief” (i.e., unbelief) is NOT due to “the working of His mighty strength which He worked in Christ [in] raising Him from [the] dead;” but rather, it is due “to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:2). Acts 13:38-39 says this:
“Then let it be known to you, men, brothers, that through this One remission of sin is announced to you. And everyone believing in this One is justified from all things which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39).
Those who believe that Jesus Christ died for everyone without exception (i.e., “universal atonement advocates”) DENY that remission of sin is through this One. For whoever’s effort makes the difference between remission and condemnation (non-remission), it is THAT person through whom remission ultimately comes. Thus, the universal atonement advocates must vainly attempt to be justified through the Law of Moses since, to them, Christ’s fulfillment of the Law’s strict penal and preceptive demands was NOT sufficient in and of itself to demand, ensure, and secure the salvation of ALL whom He represented in His efficacious life, death, resurrection, ascension, and intercession. Since they are dead-set on supplementing the efficacious work of Christ with their own efforts, then they are necessarily debtors to keep the whole law (see Galatians 5:2-4).
“And when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who proceeds from the Father, that One will witness concerning Me” (John 15:26).
“But when that One comes, the Spirit of Truth, He will guide you into all Truth, for He will not speak from Himself, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will announce the coming things to you. That One will glorify Me, for He will receive from Mine and will announce to you” (John 16:13-14).
“If you are reviled in [the] name of Christ, [you are] blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you. Truly, according to them, He is blasphemed; but according to you, He is glorified” (1 Peter 4:14).
The Holy Spirit of Truth glorifies Jesus Christ in the hearts of His people (2 Corinthians 4:5-6). The spirit of antichrist glorifies the sinner. The epitome of antichrist puts the sinner’s efforts in the place and stead of Christ’s efficacious efforts on the cross. Those believing that Christ died for everyone without exception DENY that Jesus Christ came in the flesh to take away the sin of the world (1 John 4:1-6; John 1:29).
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone forth into the world. By this know the Spirit of God: every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in [the] flesh is from God. And every spirit which does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in [the] flesh is not from God; and this is the antichrist which you heard is coming, and now is already in the world. Little children, you are of God and have overcome them, because He in you is greater than he in the world. They are of the world; because of this they speak of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God; the [one] knowing God hears us. Whoever is not of God does not hear us. From this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error” (1 John 4:1-6).
“On the morrow, John sees Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold! The Lamb of God, taking away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)
If you believe that Jesus Christ died for everyone without exception, then you do NOT believe with John the Baptist that Jesus is the Lamb of God, taking away the sin of the world.
