Joyful or Jaded?

John 16:22, your JOY no man doth take from you. Though some do contemn and slander the TRUTH. They judge by the world’s standards and are concerned with what it thinks. Forsooth!

John 15:11, Christ’s JOY remain in you, and that your JOY might be full. True gospel seed concomitants are immediately and inevitably commenced in regeneration; consummated in full resurrection glorification.

These particular concomitants are certain and necessary fruits, sanctification by the Holy Spirit and belief of the TRUTH (cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:13).

John 16:24, Ask and receive that your JOY may be full and complete. Though haters will hate and shed your reputational blood with the gnashing of teeth.

1 John 1:4, I write to you that your JOY may be full like flasks of sweet wine, not sour. Though malicious and malignant muckrakers do scrape and scour. These sedulous beasts do gore and devour.

Insatiably they gulp down inebriating gossip from pernicious pitchers of the pseudo-pious. Eyes sallow they wallow in the vituperative vomit of their own confirmation bias.

Philippians 4:4, Rejoice ALWAYS. Not only in seas of calm and placid peace, but also in the storms of opposition that never seem to cease.

Romans 15:13, The God of HOPE fill you with all JOY and peace in believing. Though the false religionists are raging and the secularists be seething.

Multitudes are fuming, fulminating, and fainting at the picture they see Paul painting. They emote at Ephesians 5:24, pick their jaw up off the floor (which is now quite very sore).

Isaiah 46:10-11, REJOICE ye with Jerusalem; be DELIGHTED with the abundance of her glory. Know the GOSPEL story. Our JUST God and SAVIOR with us till our heads be hoary.

Recalcitrant, ungrateful, unthankful, and tumultuous toddlers push away the Paideia Plate. Essential gospel doctrine and its necessary implications got old, they now do hate. Gospel TRUTHS now chafe and grate.

When true gospel profession is a mere familial possession it sometimes is meant, in some things I will obey, from other things I am exempt.

Overt unbelief seems unexpected and sudden. But perhaps incipient consternation and doubts were cumulative budding.

Maintaining a good show in the flesh that was not unkempt. Gospel seed planted in unregenerate soil. Imperfect gardener doth toil and moil. Familiarity can indeed breed blessed herbs. Or it can breed the briers of cursed contempt (cf. Hebrews 6:7-8).
