Perniciously peculiar

Be nice to those who authored the WCF, after all they did include the following clause in the WCF:

“All synods or councils since the apostles’ times, whether general or particular, may err, and many have erred; therefore they are not to be made the rule of faith or practice,”

The rest of the clause you cite says: “…but to be used as a help in both.” Some Scriptures referenced by the WCF men are Acts 17:11, 2 Corinthians 2:5, and 2 Corinthians 1:24.

Searching the Scriptures like the Bereans, I find the WCF to be penned by soul murderers who promoted the eternal destruction of others (cf. Acts 17:11). The fear of the Lord is the beginning of true wisdom. The framers of the WCF showed themselves to have no fear of God before their eyes while they were promoting, endorsing, and encouraging such things as continuing in the sin of adultery. They are not wise men, but corrupt men (cf. 2 Corinthians 2:5). To admonish and encourage people in the sin of adultery is a perniciously peculiar way to be a helper of another’s joy (cf. 2 Corinthians 1:24).
